CAREY — March is Developmental Disability Awareness month, and that means another community leader was chosen to be placed in the shoes of someone with a disability. This year’s volunteer was Carey Mayor Jennifer Rathburn. Rathburn’s simulated disability experience involved being in a wheelchair all morning while adding a few other disabilities throughout the event.

The Daily Chief-Union has an immediate need for motor route drivers and foot carriers. Delivery is Monday through Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Motor routes take about three hours per day, and foot routes take around 30 minutes. Anyone 10 and older is welcome to apply for a foot route. Upper Sandusky High School’s acapella choir group “The Upper Class” performed several songs as musical entertainment for Thursday night’s Wyandot County Township Banquet inside the Masters’ Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds.

Security issues were discussed at Thursday’s meeting of the Upper Sandusky Community Library board. The idea of security cameras was proposed due to some issues of cash going missing. There was hope to take steps to minimize loss of material.
