ATTICA — Carey outlasted Seneca East in 11 innings Friday, 4-2, for a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball victory.

FINDLAY — Riverdale’s girls and boys were fourth in the Blanchard Valley Conference track and field meet Friday at Liberty-Benton.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk softball team has tried a number of different lineups, but Coach Bo Trusty has found one he likes pretty well — and it seems to be working. Scoring at least once in each inning, the Warriors continued their recent hot hitting with a 10-0 victory in five innings against Crestline in a Division IV sectional final game Thursday.

CAREY — Carey softball began its season with five straight losses way back in March and early April. It followed with 14 wins in its next 16 games to secure the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the Division IV district bracket.

LEXINGTON — Upper Sandusky’s Turner Dilley and Nate Hensel won a doubles match and advanced to play for a district berth at Division II boys tennis sectionals in Lexington on Thursday. Early matches were played indoors at Lakewood Racquet Club due to rain Thursday morning.

GALION — Small ball paid some big dividends for Galion in its 9-0 Division III sectional semifinal win against Wynford on Wednesday. The Tigers’ top two hitters in their lineup had two bunt singles each in the first two innings and turned them into runs as Galion built an early 6-0 lead after two innings.

BUCYRUS — Wynford put together a third-inning rally, and Trey Stone worked with the run support in a 6-4 sectional final win over Plymouth on Wednesday. The No. 2-seed Royals advance to Shelby for a Division IV district semifinal game against No. 3 St. Paul at 4:15 p.m. next Wednesday.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk pitcher Austin Shock put the ball in the strike zone and let his defense do the rest on Wednesday afternoon as the host Warriors topped Lakeside Danbury 4-1 in a Division IV baseball sectional championship game.

CAREY — Ridgedale scored a pair of runs in the 11th inning to beat Carey, 3-1, on Wednesday. Alex Brown had an RBI double and Austin Price singled in a run to put the Rockets ahead.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale topped Leipsic, 6-3, in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game Wednesday. Taylor Farmer (12-7) allowed zero earned runs on two hits with 13 strikeouts in the pitching circle.
