NEW WASHINGTON — Upper Sandusky won its sixth straight Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Thursday, downing Buckeye Central 14-0 in five innings.

Edison edged Upper Sandusky, 3-2, in a boys tennis match Thursday. The Rams (1-4) got a singles win from Noah Frey, 7-5, 6-1, over Nathan Zettler at No. 2.

Upper Sandusky’s junior high track and field teams opened the season with wins in a tri-match against Colonel Crawford and Ridgedale. The Rams girls (49 points) edged the Eagles (44) and Rockets (41), while the boys won with easy with a 93-41 advantage on Colonel Crawford.

Upper Sandusky topped Seneca East, 20-7, in a junior varsity baseball game Wednesday. The Rams scored eight times each in the third and fourth innings.

CAREY — It is early, but Wynford could claim to be the hottest team in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference. The Royals won their fourth straight game Tuesday, topping Carey on the road, 11-4.

ATTICA — In close games, the little things mean a lot. Upper Sandusky did just enough of those things to take a 2-1 victory Wednesday at Seneca East to even things up at the top of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball standings.

CAREY — Carey’s offense exploded for eight runs each in the third and fourth innings to run away with a 19-0 victory against Wynford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday. Bryanna Curlis and Taehlor Niederkohr both finished with four hits to lead the Blue Devils (2-5, 2-2 N10) at the plate.

ATTICA — Upper Sandusky was no-hit until the sixth inning but held a lead throughout most of a 9-0 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play Wednesday at Seneca East. The Rams (6-3, 5-0 N10) scored three times in the third inning without a hit, and then they strung together all seven of their hits in the game in the sixth to score six times.

MARION — The Upper Sandusky boys tennis team got its first win of the year with a 5-0 shutout of Pleasant on Wednesday.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Arcadia used a five-run sixth inning to take a 6-2 victory against Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game Wednesday. The Redskins (4-2, 2-1 BVC) scored once in the third inning for an early lead.
