Brett Montgomery had a birdie and six pars on his way to a 38 to earn medalist honors and lead Upper Sandusky to a 174-202 victory against Bucyrus in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference golf match Wednesday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club.

VAN BUREN — Riverdale scored twice in the final nine minutes to earn a 2-2 draw against Van Buren in its North Central Ohio Soccer Association opener Wednesday.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale forced a fourth set but could not push it to five in a 25-14, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21 loss to Hopewell-Loudon to open Blanchard Valley Conference play Wednesday night.

TIFFIN — Sierra Carey assisted on all three goals, including two by Megan Hensel in the Upper Sandusky girls soccer team’s 3-0 victory against Tiffin Columbian on Wednesday.

NEW WASHINGTON — Trey Bame shot a 1-over-par 36 to lead Carey to a 157-188 victory against Buckeye Central in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference golf match Wednesday at Cranberry Hills Golf Course.

SHELBY — Wynford was second in a non-league golf tri-match, finishing behind Plymouth, 175-206, and ahead of Northmor (217) on Wednesday at Woody Ridge Golf Course.

BUCYRUS — All six of Wynford’s varsity players shot in the 50s, but it was not quite enough against Buckeye Central, which scored a 200-206 victory in a girls golf match Wednesday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk definitely was excited to play Carey at home on a Tuesday night. The Blue Devils did not seem as motivated. Errors caught up to the Carey for the second night in a row, and it showed up at the beginning of each game as Mohawk made fairly quick work of its visiting rivals, 25-17, 26-24, 25-21.

ARLINGTON — Riverdale was a distant third in a Blanchard Valley Conference golf tri-match Tuesday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Liberty-Benton ran away with first with a 157, while Arlington was well ahead of Riverdale for second, 196-272.
