MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale’s volleyball season seems to be trending in the right direction. After dropping a pair of matches to open the season, the Falcons (2-2) picked up their second straight win Monday night, defeating Ridgemont in three games, 25-18, 25-17, 25-20.

Upper Sandusky rolled in four of five matches and won a three-set victory in the other in a 5-0 sweep of Tiffin Colubmian on Monday. “This is the best we’ve played top to bottom during a match,” Upper Sandusky coach Aaron Frazee said.

Mohawk stayed unbeaten in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference with a 174-204 victory against Colonel Crawford in a boys golf match Monday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club.

Riverdale’s junior varsity defeated Upper Sandusky’s freshman football team, 20-2, on Monday. The Rams scored a safety on the Falcons’ first offensive play, but a long run before the half put the Falcons up 6-2. Riverdale added long pass plays for scores in the third and fourth quarters.

NEW RIEGEL — New Riegel handed Carey its first volleyball loss of the season, 26-24, 25-23, 25-18, on Monday night.

TIFFIN — Seneca East ran away with first place with a 174, while North Baltimore edged Wynford, 197-198, in a boys golf match Monday at Seneca Hills Golf Course.

FOSTORIA — Trey Bame shot a 39 to earn medalist honors and lead the Carey golf team to a 169-187 victory against Hopewell-Loudon on Monday at Loudon Meadows Golf Course.

Two first half goals proved to be enough for Upper Sandusky to defeat Kenton in girls soccer action Saturday night. Kenton (2-1) made a late push against the Rams (3-1) with a second half goal, but ultimately fell to Upper Sandusky, 3-1.

NORTH ROBINSON — Keely Wentz was the girls winner, and Trevor Cook was boys runner-up as Carey finished second to host Colonel Crawford in both the girls and boys results of Saturday’s Early Bird Invitational. The Eagles boys held a 49-56 advantage over the Blue Devils, while the Eagles girls won, 61-69.
