Mohawk gives Upper 1st N10 loss

An eight-run inning did Mohawk in Friday. On Monday, the Warriors turned the tables. Mohawk scored eight times in the fifth inning and ended Upper Sandusky’s 14-game winning streak, holding on for a 12-10 victory to give the Rams their first loss in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play.

Rams win with 4-run, 2-out rally

Mohawk repeatedly was one strike away from getting right back in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball race, but that last strike never came. Upper Sandusky began a two-out rally with a two-strike hit by Kolin Holloway, and five batters later, Arick Schneider’s single scored the tying and winning runs to give the Rams a 4-3 walk off victory against the Warriors.

Trey Stone pitches Royals to win

ATTICA — In holding off Seneca East for a 3-1 road win, Wynford moved a step closer to a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball championship. The Royals (10-5, 7-3 N10) control their destiny after earning a series split with the Tigers (9-5, 6-4 N10) on Monday.

Smith hits for cycle in Carey win at Ridgedale

MORRAL — Carey scored 10 times in the sixth inning to run away with a 15-4 victory against Ridgedale in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday. Felicite Smith hit for the cycle, finishing with five hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in four runs.

Tigers edge Royals, 5-3

ATTICA — Wynford had its best pitching and defensive performance of the season, but did not get enough offense in a 5-3 loss in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball action Monday. The Royals (1-13, 1-9 N10) scored three runs in the first inning, but the Tigers (6-6, 5-5 N10) took the lead with four runs in the third inning.

Upper wins JV baseball game

SYCAMORE — Upper Sandusky’s junior varsity baseball team defeated Mohawk, 9-3, on Monday. The Rams scored seven runs the final three innings, including five in the seventh.

Rams girls take 2nd in Swankhouse Invite

For the Rams girls track and field team, Saturday’s Gerald Swankhouse Invitational at Upper Sandusky High School came down to the last set of scores. Madelyn Shasteen and Hannah Gier tied for second place in the pole vault to help Upper Sandusky hold off Lexington for second place in the meet.
