Kin’s 16 kills, 16 digs lead Carey past Buckeyes

BUCYRUS — Sydney Kin had 16 kills, 16 digs and six blocks to lead Carey to a 25-16, 25-12, 25-17 victory against Bucyrus on Tuesday night. Kin was 32-of-36 hitting, while Hannah Zimmerman went 22-of-25 hitting with seven kills for the Blue Devils (15-6, 11-4 Northern 10 Athletic Conference).

Warriors sweep Redmen to clinch 2nd place in league

SYCAMORE — Mohawk clinched second place in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference with a 25-9, 25-14, 25-21 victory against Ridgedale on Tuesday night. Buckeye Central (20-1, 15-0 N10) is the league champion, with Mohawk (17-4, 13-3 N10) now assured of finishing ahead of Carey (15-6, 11-4 N10) for second.

11th-ranked Vikings sweep Falcons

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Brooke Gerdeman had 17 kills and six blocks to lead Division IV No. 11 Leipsic to a 25-19, 25-13, 25-17 victory over Riverdale to close out Blanchard Valley Conference play Monday night. Carrol Pauley led the attack for the Falcons (9-11, 4-7 BVC) with 13 kills on 29-of-33 hitting, while Jessica Johnston had eight kills and Cara Pauley added five.

Cheetahs finish 4-4

The Upper Sandusky Cheetahs 10-and-under girls soccer team finished their season 4-4. In their fifth game, the Cheetahs lost to the Liberty-Benton Red Eagles, 7-0.

Cards get win

The Cardinals defeated the Cowboys, 28-8, in a Midget League Football game Sunday. Offensively for the Cardinals: Gavin Frey, 7 carries for 99 yards, 1 TD; Zaiden Fry, 10 carries for 71 yards, 1 TD, 2-point conversion; Evan Hill, 8 carries for 59 yards, 1 TD, 3 completions for 13 yards; Brayden Chester, 3 carries for 17 yards, 1 TD, 2 catches for 13 yards, 2-point conversion.

Mohawk puts away Upper in 4th

Upper Sandusky fought hard enough through its third set against Mohawk to keep everybody around for a fourth Saturday morning. Then, Mohawk did them the courtesy of wrapping things up quickly.
