MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale lost to Bluffton, 24-23, and defeated Tiffin Calvert, 36-12, in a slate of wrestling matches Tuesday evening. Liberty-Benton also wrestled Calvert and Bluffton.

FREMONT — Mohawk topped Fremont St. Joseph, 57-42, in a non-league boys basketball game Tuesday. The Warriors (6-14) led 18-11 after one quarter, 26-17 at halftime and 35-27 at the end of the third quarter before scoring 22 points in the final frame to put away the game.

NEW WASHINGTON — Wynford played a strong first quarter in its girls basketball regular season finale at Buckeye Central on Tuesday, but the Royals ultimately fell 59-34. Gretchen Harris led all scorers with 21 points and had four steals.

BUCYRUS — Upper Sandusky had seven individual champions and ran away with the team title in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference junior high wrestling tournament Saturday at Bucyrus. The Rams scored 185 points for their second junior high N10 wrestling title, with Mohawk placing second with 139.5 points.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk summer league baseball and softball sign-ups are 9-11:30 a.m. Feb. 25 and March 4 in the Mohawk High School cafeteria. Forms will be available in the elementary school office for those unable to attend.

ATTICA — The third annual Beast of the East basketball tournament will be held March 11-12 at Seneca East Schools. Individual awards will be given for each grade divisions from fourth through eighth.

The Upper Sandusky High School girls basketball team will play the winner of Norwalk and Clear Fork in the sectional final of the girls basketball tournament at 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at Monroeville High School. Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students.

Upper Sandusky’s boys and girls each qualified for districts in seven events Saturday during the sectional swim meet at the Lima YMCA. As a team, the Rams boys finished third with 263 points.

The Upper Sandusky boys basketball team is champion of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference for the second straight year, and on Saturday night, the Rams looked like the No. 2 team in the state. Mohawk was rattled into 20 first-half turnovers and 29 overall as Upper Sandusky ran away with an 80-44 victory.

BUCYRUS — Wynford rode a hot shooting start to a wire-to-wire, 74-44 victory over Seneca East in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game Saturday. Jack Reed led all scorers with 18 points, and Zach Hoffman hit five 3-pointers and scored 17 points.
