Mohawk girls win Bucyrus MS Invite

BUCYRUS — Mohawk’s girls took first place, and Upper Sandusky was third Thursday in the Bucyrus Middle School Invitational. The Warriors scored 116 points, while Colonel Crawford topped Upper Sandusky, 80.5-70.5, for second.

Mohawk’s Cook shuts out Wynford, 2-0

SYCAMORE — The Warriors worked a couple of runs across, and Wyatt Cook kept Wynford quiet. Mohawk won a rain-delayed, rain-shortened game, 2-0 in six innings, Wednesday to complete a sweep of the defending Northern 10 Athletic Conference champions. The Warriors (12-1, 8-1 N10) are on an 11-game win streak.

Game suspended with Warriors leading 5-0

SYCAMORE — Three strikes and you’re out. Mother Nature struck out the Mohawk and Wynford softball teams when a third weather delay forced the postponement of their Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game with Mohawk leading 5-0 after four innings.

Riverdale’s Pauley signs with Ashland

MOUNT BLANCHARD — When Riverdale’s Carrol Pauley began high school four years ago, she had aspirations of being an athlete in college as a volleyball player. USHS hosting invite Saturday

The 14th annual Upper Sandusky High School Gerald Swankhouse Invitational is set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the USHS athletic complex. Kenton, Lexington, Mohawk, Northmor, Oak Harbor, Port Clinton and River Valley are competing this year along with the Rams. Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for students. No passes will be accepted.

Eagles top Blue Devils, 5-1

CAREY — Colonel Crawford stayed atop the Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball standings with a 5-1 victory against Carey on Tuesday. The Eagles (11-1, 7-1 N10) scored three times in the third inning and then two more times in the fifth inning.
