Park district announces activities

CRESTLINE — The Crawford Park District has announced a slate of upcoming events. The district’s quarterly history program, “Tellin’ Tales,” is slated for 2 p.m. Saturday at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598, Crestline, and will focus on local drug stores.

Meeting minutes: July 19, 2016

Thirteen members and one guest attended a recent meeting of Public Employees Retirement Inc. No. 88 in the Bowman-Kirkland meeting room at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. President Ruthie Reier opened the meeting with “The Lord’s Prayer” and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Free concert slated in Melmore

Band coming to Melmore Opera House

MELMORE — The Muleskinner Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. July 21 at Pitman-Stoner Hall inside the 1910 Melmore Opera House. The Muleskinner Band has been providing its listeners with a unique blend of quality bluegrass, gospel, and traditional country music for 25 years, according to a press release from the Mohawk Historical Society, which is sponsoring the event.

Reservations being accepted for annual senior park picnic

The annual Picnic in the Park sponsored by the Wyandot County Council on Aging is slated for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Harrison Smith Park. The free event is for those ages 60 and older. McCUTCHENVILLE — The Overland Inn Museum in McCutchenville will host a program titled “Author, Author at the Inn” during its regular operating hours July 30. The inn, located at 283 Ohio 53 N., is open from 1-4:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

UF class of 1966 plans Veterans’ Honor Wall

FINDLAY — To celebrate its 50th reunion, the University of Findlay class of 1966 is seeking names of veterans who attended the university to be included on the Veterans’ Honor Wall in the UF Center for Student Life and College of Business, which is being constructed and is expected to open for the fall 2017 semester.

Youth summer camps continue at St. Francis

TIFFIN — St. Francis Community in Tiffin has announced several youth summer camps slated for July and August at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center. The Amazing Animals summer camp for youth ages 5-10 years will take place from 8 a.m. to noon July 25-29.

Free family tent camping event slated

CRESTLINE — The Crawford Park District will offer free family tent camping beginning at 7 p.m. July 29 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598. Families are invited to come any time after 5 p.m. to pitch their tents around the pond at the park.
