Nevada Council to consider clarifying duties of committees

NEVADA — Nevada Council will try to spell out duties for its various committees in the near future. Councilman Greg “Tom” Durham said at Monday night’s council meeting clarity is needed. Councilwoman Diane Morgan suggested each council make a list of what it believes are its responsibilities and they can be discussed further after that.

Students seek affiliation for STEM Club

CAREY — Four high school students presented to the Carey Board of Education during a regular meeting Monday about ways a school-affiliated STEM club could benefit students. Alec Johnson, Gerardo Garcia, Sydnie Arend and Zach Turnbell are part of a group of students who have been meeting to develop and execute projects in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Women’s Literary Club October meeting was held at the Mohawk Community Library. President Beth Lininger welcomed 14 members with a reading from Patricia Limbach’s “Harvest of Bittersweet,” a collection of essays from the author of a weekly Farm Wife column in an Ohio newspaper.
