Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering free and low-cost health screenings at the Wyandot County Fair. The screenings are performed by healthcare professionals at the hospital’s booth in the Merchants’ Building.

CAREY — The Franciscan Friars at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, have developed the theme of “consolation, knowing that ultimately God is the source of all consolation. BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has announced upcoming events. Wild Wednesday is 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598, 3 miles north of U.S. 30.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a brown and white female bulldog with gray on her face, a neutered male yellow and white cat, a tiger/calico cat, an older gray calico cat, a yellow and white male kitten and a small tan female dog wearing a collar and tags.

Norah Guinther, daughter of Jason and Annie Guinther, has completed the 1,000 Books before Kindergarten program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. As an added achievement, Norah completed this program in less than one year.

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District will hold its hunting lottery for the Sandusky Wildlife Area, Sears Woods State Nature Preserve and Carmean Woods State Nature Preserve at 7 p.m. Aug. 28. The Sandusky Wildlife Area is located at 2035 River Road, west of Bucyrus.
