Isaiah Boes completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Dorcas Carey Public Library. The library offers the 1,000 Books before Kindergarten reading program for newborns up to school age.

Craig Krenzel

BUCYRUS — Former Ohio State University and NFL quarterback Craig Krenzel will be the guest speaker at the men’s breakfast at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Bucyrus Community Hospital cafeteria. Krenzel led the Buckeyes to the 2003 national championship and played in the NFL for the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals.

Jackson Lehnhart, age 2, completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program through The Mohawk Community Library. His parents are Justin and Sarah Lehnhart. He began the reading program Nov. 10, 2017, and completed it Aug. 31, 2018.

Meet candidates in Fostoria

FOSTORIA — Meet the Candidates will be held from the counties of Wood, Wyandot, Seneca, Sandusky and Hancock Sept. 29 at 1675 N. Union St., Fostoria. Candidates for offices include judges, Hancock County commissioners, county auditors, Ohio House 3rd District representative and Fourth District Congressional representative.

WMH offers screenings

Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering free and low-cost health screenings at the Wyandot County Fair. The screenings are performed by healthcare professionals at the hospital’s booth in the Merchants’ Building.

OLC having bake sale

CAREY — The Our Lady of Consolation Volunteer Bakery will feature pies at its bake sale set for Saturday and Sunday. Apple and Dutch apple pies will be sold at a special price. The bakery was started by the late Father Paul Faroh.
