The public is invited to a free performance by the Marion Madrigal Singers at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Upper Sandusky Community Library.

The Wyandot County Mentoring Program is offering a free summer lunch program for youth in Wyandot County from 11:30 a.m. to noon every Wednesday until Aug. 14 at John Stewart UMC in Upper Sandusky. The program is for youth in grades kindergarten through 12 and is sponsored in part by the United Way of Wyandot County, Wyandot County Family and Children First and the Wyandot County Mentoring Program.

The third annual South Sandusky Block Rally is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 26 at South Sandusky Avenue in Upper Sandusky from the courthouse to the railroad tracks. The event will benefit No One Fights Alone, a Wyandot County nonprofit which began in 2012 to provide care bags to local cancer patients containing items such as gas and food cards as well as other helpful items to remove some burden of cancer treatments. To date, the non-profit has provided more than 500 bags to local cancer patients.

SYCAMORE – Mohawk Community Library is excited to announce the availability of its new intuitive mobile app, SEO Libraries App, available for iOS and Android. This app makes it easy to use the library even if a member is not physically in the library.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include an older black and white female husky, a white and gray male cat, a grey and white female cat, a brown female lab-poodle mix, a red male German shepherd, a spayed female brindle cat, a brown and white spayed female terrier-Chihuahua mix, a gray male cat, and a tiger and white male kitten.

A must-see art exhibit is being held from 2-4 p.m. June 23 at Bonnie Wolfe’s Art Studio, 10627 CH 91, Upper Sandusky. Open to the public, this annual exhibit will showcase a compilation of Wolfe’s 43 student’s accomplishments.

TOLEDO — June 11, the American Red Cross launched the Missing Types campaign to raise awareness for lifesaving blood donations and urge the public to make an appointment to give blood or platelets this summer. During the Missing Types campaign, the letters A, B and O, the letters representing the main blood groups, are disappearing from brands, social media pages, signs and websites to illustrate the critical role blood donors play in helping patients. When the letters A, B and O vanish from everyday life, the gaps are striking. And when A, B, O and AB blood types go missing from hospital shelves, patient care and medical treatments are affected.

MARSEILLES — The 73rd Marseilles alumni banquet was held at the Marseilles Firehouse with 71 members and guests present. Sam and Glena Roszman served punch during the social hour. Charlotte Leeth registered attendees. President Scott Hensel gave the welcome. Marion Weaver gave the invocation and blessing before the 6 p.m. dinner. The dinner was catered by Special Occasions Catering by Shari Dunn of Upper Sandusky.

CRESTLINE — The Crawford Park District recently announced upcoming events Teasel pull is 10 a.m. June 22 at Daughmer Savannah, 786 Marion Melmore Road. Join the Crawford Park District to help eradicate teasel at one of the best natural areas in the Midwest! Teasel crowds out native plants, affecting Daughmer’s botanical diversity. Attendees will be teaming up with members from a partner group, Ohio Natural Areas & Preserves Association to rid Daughmer of the invasive species. Bring work gloves and bug repellent. Shovels and water will be provided.

The Turtle Lady visited the Dorcas Carey Public Library on Tuesday, June 11. The lawn was filled to capacity with giggling children and adults.
