Election meal scheduled

McCUTCHENVILLE — Trinity United Church of Christ is hosting its annual Election Day lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 6 in McCutchenville. The menu includes bratwurst; sloppy joe; jumbo hot dog and chicken sandwiches; chicken noodle, ham and bean, rivel, vegetable, chili and potato soups; pie; and drinks.

Teacher award

Ann Frisch (left) of the Wyandot and Hardin counties’ Kappa chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International recently gave a $10 gift card from a local business to Bailey Seevers (middle), a special education teacher of consumer math III for seniors at Carey High School.

Blood drives to be held in county soon

As influenza activity picks up, the American Red Cross is urging healthy donors of all blood types to give blood or platelets to ensure a strong blood supply for patients in need. Blood and platelets only can be given by donors who are feeling well. One way to maintain health is to get a flu vaccine each fall.

United Way hosting celebrity bartender event

United Way of Wyandot County will be celebrating the kickoff of its 2018 annual investment campaign with a Celebrity Bartender event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at White Shutter Winery and Brewery, 3794 CH 56, Nevada. This year’s celebrity bartenders include Cassie Carlson of the Carey Chamber of Commerce, Chris Daris of Edward Jones, Amanda Fleming of the Wyandot Chamber of Commerce, Brian Kimmel of Kimmel Corporation, Jordan Treadway of iHeartMedia and Scott D. Washburn of the city of Upper Sandusky.

Trunk-or-treat Wednesday in Bucyrus

Trunk or treat

BUCYRUS — Bring children to trunk-or-treat from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the Bucyrus Elementary School parking lot off Woodlawn Avenue. This eighth annual trunk-or-treat, sponsored by Bucyrus Neighborhood Churches, provides a safe, fun, family-friendly environment for trick or treating with enough candy and other goodies for up to 700 children.

Ohio Oil and Gas Energy awarding money

GRANVILLE — The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program has invited Ohio students and teachers to creatively demonstrate their energy knowledge during National Energy Awareness Month. The U.S. Department of Energy made the designation to emphasize the importance of energy and energy production to our nation’s economic prosperity, security and quality of life.

Veteran dinner slated

The Steer Barn Steakhouse and Cocktail Lounge, in conjunction with the Wyandot Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a veteran’s appreciation dinner at 5 and 7 p.m. Nov. 12. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Call 419-294-3860 for reservations.
