There is a new face at the Wyandot County Veteran’s Service Commission to help assist the 1,700 veterans who live in the county. Nancy Israel started as the agency’s financial investigation officer June 23 and will be assisting Veteran’s Service Commission Director Theresa Miller.

COLUMBUS — The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio on Wednesday approved the installation of mast-mounted flashing lights and roadway gates at rail crossings in Wyandot and Seneca counties, including at the location of an April 2014 crash that injured a Cloverdale man.

A manufacturing facility that currently sits vacant in the city of Upper Sandusky is on the market for interested buyers. The commercial property located at 112 River St. has been empty since fall of last year, said Jan Miller, a representative of Bradley Corp. who led a tour and answered questions at a public open house earlier this month.

All things local will be the focal point of the second annual Wyanstock music festival Saturday at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. Local live music will be performed from 1 p.m. to midnight, with six bands set to take the main stage and side acts including Chelsea Frey, Outland & Kessler, Christian Cole, Grape Jam and more.

The bridge at the historic Indian Mill has been reopened to traffic. After several delays in the project, the bridge and nearby park area at the Sandusky River are accessible again.
