BUCYRUS — Josh Crall shot a 49 to lead Wynford to its first Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf win of the season, 211-225 over Colonel Crawford on Thursday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus. Dylon Robinson shot a 52, Nash Farrell carded a 54, and Aden Caldwell finished with a 56 for the Royals (2-2, 1-1 N10).

Brett Montgomery continued his medalist streak and led Upper Sandusky to a 162-205 victory against Ridgedale in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf match Wednesday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Montgomery shot a 1-under-par 35 and has been at least co-medalist in every match and invitational this season. He birdied No. 3 and shot par on each of the other eight holes.

County farmers, families take the night off at Tuesday event

Wyandot County farmers and their families were given a chance to think about anything but paperwork and the weather Tuesday with a Farmer’s Night Off event in the Masters’ Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. The event, organized by Wyandot County Commissioner Bill Clinger, area crop insurance companies and Pastor Jay Scott, was viewed as a way to give back to area farmers after a devastating amount of spring rainfall caused heavy losses this year.

Upper Sandusky Mayor Scott Washburn addressed rival village Carey’s recent prank on the city at Monday’s Upper Sandusky City Council meeting. In advance of Saturday’s Battle of the Badges softball game between Upper Sandusky fire and police departments against Carey’s fire and police departments, representatives from Carey raised a Carey flag on the Upper Sandusky Municipal Building’s flagpole, Washburn reported.

Upper tops Shelby for first win

The Upper Sandusky volleyball team picked up its first win of the season by beating Shelby 25-23, 14-25, 25-23, 25-20 on Monday night at Upper Sandusky. The Rams (1-1) took an early lead in the first set before Shelby (0-2) rallied ahead. Upper Sandusky then made a run for a 23-19 lead. The Whippets tied it before the Rams scored the final two points to take a 1-0 lead.
