Watson finishes 6th in 400 dash

COLUMBUS — Having raced the 100 and 200 dashes in the past, Wynford junior Alizhah Watson never would have guessed he would finish in the top six in the state in the 400 dash in upcoming seasons. But despite his inexperience in the race, an injury suffered midway through the 2018 season and the fact that the 400 dash was not his favorite race, Watson embraced his new event late this season.

Mullholand takes 3rd in state

COLUMBUS — Neither the fact it was her first appearance at the state track and field meet nor a lightning delay of approximately 1.5 hours prevented Mohawk freshman Taeylor Mullholand from getting on the podium in the Division III high jump.

COLUMBUS — When Wynford junior Alizhah Watson and his teammates won the 400 relay and finished second in the 800 relay at the state track and field meet his freshman year, he considered it a dream come true. Now, he is one race away from possibly achieving another dream: Winning an individual race at the state track meet.

Mini Royals Camp

Mini Royals Camp

The Wynford High School boys basketball program hosted Mini Royals camp for children entering third through sixth grades this week. The camp focused on fundamentals, dribbling skills and shooting form.

Upper hosting soccer camp

The Upper Sandusky High School boys soccer team will be holding a soccer camp for boys entering first through eighth grades from June 18-21. Soccer skills will be taught, and each camper will receive a ball and T-shirt.

Outdoor skills camp June 14

Wyandot County Pheasants Forever, in partnership with the Ohio Division of Wildlife and Rogers Conservation Club, is hosting four events this summer, including the first Outdoor Skills Day. The Youth Outdoor Skills event for those 17 and younger is 5:30-8 p.m. June 14 at Sam Walton (Ellis) Lake. Space is limited, and the event is close to capacity.
