GALION — Brett Montgomery shot a career-low nine-hole 32 to help Upper Sandusky close out Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf play with a 171-222 victory against Colonel Crawford on Tuesday at Valley View Golf Course.

Montgomery had birdies on Nos. 1, 4, 6, 7 and 9 with a bogey on No. 8.

He made a 63-foot putt on No. 4, and “his approach shots were lights out, knocking three shots to less than 8 feet,” Upper Sandusky coach Graham Treadway said.

Trevor Clifford carded a 42, while Evan Young shot a 44.

Both Owen Knapp and Isaiah Washburn had 53s. Ben Latham finished with a 55 for the Rams (12-0, 8-0 N10).

Gavin Feichtner led the Eagles (0-7, 0-7 N10) with a 50.

AJ Johnson shot a 56, Seth Lohr finished with a 57, and Andy Brause finished with a 59. Cyler Hoepf (61) and Noah Thornton (84) also were in the lineup.

With the victory, the Rams finished undefeated in league dual play and likely will have a two-point lead on Ridgedale entering the N10 tournament.

“I’m very proud of this bunch of kids,” Treadway said.

“We still need to play well at the N10 tournament Tuesday to clinch the N10 title. We will stay focused and relaxed as we prepare for the tournament season.”

The Rams host Hopewell-Loudon in a nonconference match at 4:15 p.m. Thursday.
