Fostoria walks off with 4-3 win over Wynford

FOSTORIA — Jesus Garcia hit a two-run single with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Fostoria a 4-3 walk-off victory against Wynford in a nonleague baseball game Tuesday at Fostoria. After giving up two runs in the fifth inning, the Royals (5-8) took the lead with three runs in the top of the sixth inning, with two of them coming on an RBI single by Noah Smith. Kendall Blair finished with two hits.

Bucyrus overwhelms Mohawk

SYCAMORE – Mohawk found some offensive success against the Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s top pitcher but it could not slow down Bucyrus’ offense in a 12-5 loss to the first-place Redmen on Monday in Sycamore. Paityn Clouse and Tess Weinandy each hit two-run home runs for the Warriors (7-3, 3-3 N10). But it was not nearly enough to match the 16 hits by Bucyrus (9-4, 6-0 N10).

SYCAMORE – Trevor Ley shut down Mohawk and got a five-run fourth inning from the offense as Bucyrus took a 5-2 victory in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Monday at Mohawk. Ley (2-2) limited Mohawk to six hits and no walks with seven strikeouts.

Upper dominates Bucks

NEW WASHINGTON – Upper Sandusky smashed 29 hits and ran away with a 23-3 victory against Buckeye Central in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday at Buckeye Central. The Rams (8-5, 5-1 N10) scored eight times in the first inning and nine times in the third inning.

Rams tennis cruises to win

ONTARIO – After a long string of home matches, the Upper Sandusky went on the road and scored a 4-1 victory against Ontario in a boys tennis match Monday at Marshall Park. Levi Malone won the No. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-1, while Landon Cotto Ramos was dominant after losing his first set, beating Graham Brown 6-7 (1-7), 6-0, 6-2, in the No. 2 singles match.

Upper track teams grab victory

NORTH ROBINSON – Upper Sandusky’s girls and boys track and field teams edged Colonel Crawford for first place in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference tri-meet Monday at Colonel Crawford. The Rams girls won 69-64 over the Eagles, with Carey scoring 33 points. Upper Sandusky’s boys had a 68-57 margin over Colonel Crawford, with the Blue Devils tallying 41 points.

Carey wins Pilot Invitational

DEFIANCE — Carey took three victories, including a 5-3 win in the championship game, to take the title Saturday in the Ayersville Pilot Invitational softball tournament. The Blue Devils opened with a 15-4 victory in five innings against Continental and then beat North Baltimore 11-1 to reach the championship against the host Pilots.

Watson, Holman lead Royals track at Edison Invitational

MILAN — Alizhah Watson and Lainie Holman once again led Wynford on Saturday in the Edison Invitational track and field meet. Both athletes earned a pair of first-place finishes and placed in three events total for the Royals. Watson won the boys 200 dash in 23.18 and the 400 dash in 51.01 and was second in the 100 dash in 11.49.

Rams 2nd at River Valley

CALEDONIA — Newark dominated the River Valley Invitational tennis tournament Saturday, with Upper Sandusky finishing second. The Wildcats won all five positions to score 30 points and handed the Rams all five of their losses. Upper Sandusky scored 13 points, finishing ahead of River Valley with 9 points and Bucyrus with 3.
