Wyandot County Special Olympics recently took part in the Ohio Special Olympics Unified Golf Tournament at Meadow Links Golf Course. Participants (from left) John Vogel and Clayton Miller earned a bronze with a nine-hole 53, Ben Frey and Mark Johnson earned a bronze medal with a 53, and Tyler Counts and Nancy Johnson picked up a silver medal with a 43.

OTTAWA — Freshman Andrew Kuenzli shot an 85 to lead Riverdale in the Blanchard Valley Conference tournament on Wednesday at Country Acres Golf Course near Ottawa. He also became the Falcons’ first All-BVC golf honoree since the school began play in the league in 2014.

TIFFIN — Upper Sandusky won its third straight girls tennis match with a 3-2 victory Wednesday at Tiffin Columbian. “We played well in spots, and I feel like we won the matches we should have won,” Upper Sandusky coach Aaron Frazee said.

The Upper Sandusky High School Athletic Hall of Fame will induct three new members Friday night, and all of them have had successful coaching careers. They are Scott Elchert, Joe Harbour and Jerry Snodgrass.

Riverdale’s mini cheerleaders took first place at the Wyandot County Fair. Coached by Kelsie Camper and Jennifer Haefer, the Falcons went undefeated on the season.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — McComb took a 25-17, 25-21, 25-9 victory against Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball match Wednesday. Tayler Ashburn led the Falcons (0-10, 0-6 BVC) on offense with eight kills, while Jessica Johnston finished with six.

BUCYRUS — The Wynford Athletic Department is selling tickets for Friday night’s football game against Carey during school hours today and until noon Friday. Tickets also will be available at the gate.

GALION — Both Carey and Ridgedale can enjoy a championship they have waited a lot of years for. The Rockets won the Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys tournament Tuesday at Valley View Golf Course, with Carey taking second, to create a co-championship after the Blue Devils won the dual between the two teams earlier this season.
