Upper Sandusky’s Alivia Oney, Riverdale’s Alec Loveridge and Mohawk’s Zach Hayman all earned Academic All-Ohio honors by the Ohio HIgh School Basketball Coaches Association. Oney was one of 10 seniors from across the state named to the girls basketball Division II team. MARION — The Wynford baseball team took an early two-run lead, but the Pleasant tied the game in the bottom of the second and pulled away for good by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the fifth on the way to a 12-2 run-rule victory over Wynford on Thursday.

The Upper Sandusky junior high girls track and field team opened its season Tuesday by winning a home tri-meet against Seneca East and Wynford. The Rams scored 56.5 points, with the Tigers and Royals following with 43.5 and 26 points, respectively.

Upper Sandusky High School is searching for a person to line the athletic fields for the 2019-20 school year.

BUCYRUS — One day after suffering a walk-off loss, Wynford came out on the winning end, taking a 4-3 victory against Bucyrus in eight innings on Josh Crall’s sacrifice fly Wednesday at Wynford. The Royals lost on a walk-off hit by pitch at Buckeye Central on Tuesday.

CAREY — Heading into the bottom of the third inning of a scoreless contest, the Carey softball team scored three runs and added five more in the bottom of the fourth inning to pull away for an 8-2 victory over Colonel Crawford on Wednesday at Water Works Park.
