Upper selling sports passes for this year

Upper Sandusky has all-sports passes available for the 2019-20 school year. The passes allow admission to all Upper Sandusky High School and Upper Sandusky Middle School home athletic events, excluding tournaments and the Swankhouse Invitational.

Royals get first N10 win

BUCYRUS — Josh Crall shot a 49 to lead Wynford to its first Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf win of the season, 211-225 over Colonel Crawford on Thursday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus. Dylon Robinson shot a 52, Nash Farrell carded a 54, and Aden Caldwell finished with a 56 for the Royals (2-2, 1-1 N10).

Rams win 5th straight dual

MARION — Katie Clark shot a 42 to lead Upper Sandusky to its fifth straight dual victory 189-198 against Elgin on Thursday at Windy Acres Golf Course. It was Clark’s best round of her career.

Wynford edges Mohawk

BUCYRUS — Wynford picked up its second Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls golf victory of the week, edging Mohawk 217-221 on Thursday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus.

Thiel scores 3 first-half goals but Rams fall 6-3

Keeping it away

Jaidyn Thiel scored three first-half goals to keep Upper Sandusky in it, but Clear Fork pulled away in the second half for a 6-3 victory against Upper Sandusky in a boys soccer match Thursday night at Upper Sandusky. With the Rams (1-2) trailing 3-0, Thiel scored a pair of goals 1:36 apart to get Upper Sandusky to within one. He also scored with 14:39 left in the first half to make it 4-3 at the break.

Celina pulls away from Upper girls in 2nd half

CELINA — Upper Sandusky stayed close for a while but Celina began scoring a flurry of goals late in the first half on its way to a 10-1 victory in a girls soccer match Thursday at Celina. Lindsay Weininger stole a Bulldogs pass and fired the ball into the net from 30 yards out to knot the game at 1 with 15:08 left in the first half.

Carey shakes off slow start

NORTH ROBINSON — Carey overcame a slow start and picked up its first win of the season 13-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-11 over Colonel Crawford on Thursday night in North Robinson. Colonel Crawford (2-1, 1-1 N10) jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first set to take control, but Carey (1-1, 1-1 N10) pulled away midway through the second set to tie the match at one set each. The Blue Devils closed the third set on an 11-2 run and dominated the the final set.

Holman leads Royals to win

BUCYRUS — Lainey Holman was 22-of-25 hitting with 14 kills and added three aces as Wynford picked up its first Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball win of the season 25-15, 25-13, 25-16 over Bucyrus on Thursday night at Bucyrus.
