Mohawk softball wins in 8 innings

MORRAL — Down to its final out, Mohawk strung together a rally to score in the seventh inning and then went off for six runs in the eighth inning to take an 11-5 victory against Ridgedale in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday.

Widmer’s home run lifts Warriors

MORRAL — Cole Widmer hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh and Parker Brown struck out the side in the bottom of the inning as Mohawk defeated Ridgedale, 8-7, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday.

Vikings win

LEIPSIC — Leipsic scored nine times in the first inning on its way to a 23-2 victory against Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game Wednesday. The Vikings (7-9, 4-5 BVC) added six runs each in the second and fourth innings and two in the third inning.

Leipsic walks off in 7th

LEIPSIC — Leipsic scored two runs in the sixth inning and then walked off with two runs in the bottom of the seventh, beating Riverdale, 4-3, in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Wednesday. Riverdale (10-9, 6-4 BVC) held a 3-0 lead by scoring two runs in the fourth inning and then one in the top of the sixth.

Rams tennis improves to 7-5 with 3-2 win

GALION — Despite losing the No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles matches, the Upper Sandusky boys tennis team was victorious in three matches in a 3-2 victory over Galion on Wednesday. In the No. 1 singles match, Clay Burger defeated Alec Dicus 6-4, 6-0.

Carey stay perfect with 6-2 win against McComb

A win on the mound featured

CAREY — Its perfect record in jeopardy in the fifth inning, Carey made plays on defense and then at the plate and took a 6-2 victory against McComb in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday. With the game tied at 1 in the top of the fifth inning, McComb (7-6) put runners at second and third with one out and had its top hitter, Tanner Schroeder, at the plate.

Falcons roll to 20-5 victory

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Seth McElree led the way with four hits as Riverdale pounded Bluffton, 20-5, in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday. McElree also walked, scored two runs and drove in two runs as Riverdale (10-8) scored five times in the first inning, six times each in the second and third innings and three times in the fourth inning.

Weinandy homers in Mohawk win

ATTICA — The Mohawk softball team scored 10 runs on 15 hits on the way to a 10-6 victory over Seneca East on Tuesday at Seneca East. The Warriors (10-7, 8-5 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) were led by Hannah Jordan, who was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
