Falcons’ Aidan Loveridge named to 1st team

Riverdale’s Aidan Loveridge was a first-team All-Blanchard Valley Conference baseball selection in the release of BVC spring awards Wednesday. The Falcons’ Seth McElree and Wayne Frey earned second-team honors, while Jonathan Walter and Alec Loveridge were picked as honorable mention.

Royals’ Watson makes fast improvements in 400

Training for state

BUCYRUS — Each of his last four meets, Wynford High School junior Alizhah Watson has reduced his time in the 400 dash. Now, as he prepares to compete in the 400 dash in the state meet Friday and possibly Saturday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at Ohio State University, Watson is hopeful he will set a new personal best time each day.

Carey, Wynford nab All-Ohio baseball honors

Arguably the best season in the history of Carey baseball was capped off with All-Ohio honors for three senior players and a top honor for its coach. Trey Bame was named first-team All-Ohio, while teammates Brayden Wentling and Easton Roark received honorable mention in Division IV.

LANCASTER – Regionals could not have gone much better for Mohawk. After advancing the 3200 relay team and Taeylor Mullholand in the high jump to state Wednesday, the Warriors qualified in two more events Friday, highlighted by Destini Oler dominating the field in the 800 run during Division III competition at Fairfield Union.

Wynford’s Watson sets 400 record, qualifies for state

TIFFIN — Two years ago, when Wynford’s Alizhah Watson and his teammates lost the 200 relay, he used that as motivation to excel in the 400 dash. This year, history repeated itself during the finals of the Division III Regional Tournament at Tiffin Columbian High School. Watson was the anchor in the boys 200 relay, a relay in which he didn’t receive the handoff of the baton. He and his teammates were disqualified as a result.
