Kieffer leads Mohawk to 5-1 win

SYCAMORE — Hannah Kieffer hit a three-run home run to power Mohawk softball to a 5-1 victory against Ridgedale on Wednesday. Her blast came in the fifth inning with Mohawk leading just 2-1.

Mohawk bats top Bucyrus

BUCYRUS – Rico Lopez threw a three-hit shutout and got plenty of run support as Mohawk rolled to a 12-0 victory in five innings against Bucyrus on Tuesday. Lopez (2-0) issued just two walks and struck out seven in five innings for the Warriors (9-7, 5-5 Northern 10 Athletic Conference).

Redmen hand Warriors loss in N10 softball

BUCYRUS – Coming off of its biggest win of the year, Mohawk softball was edged, 6-5, by Bucyrus on Tuesday. The Redmen (3-8, 2-7 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) scored five times in the third inning to push their lead to 6-0.

Rams back in the win column

FOSTORIA – Alivia Oney pitched a one-hit shutout and added a pair of doubles and two runs scored on offense as Upper Sandusky beat Fostoria, 11-0, in five innings in a non-conference softball game Tuesday. The Rams (16-4) scored four times in the first inning, twice in the second inning, once in the third and four times in the fourth.

Upper tennis wins

MANSFIELD – Upper Sandusky’s boys tennis team beat St. Peter’s, 4-1. Turner Dilley and Nate Hensel topped David Courts and Patrick Hahn, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 1 doubles, and at No. 2 doubles, Tommy Martin and Chad Mostoller downed Anthony Katsaounis and Jacob Gurski, 6-0, 6-2.

Carey girls sweep relays

ATTICA — Carey’s girls were winners in a track quad meet at Seneca East on Tuesday, scoring 89.5 points. Bucyrus was second with 73 points, followed by Seneca East (50.5) and New Riegel (8).
