Upper finishes fourth in Willard Invite

WILLARD — Freshman Brett Montgomery was medalist runner-up to lead Upper Sandusky to a fourth-place finish Friday in the Willard Invitational at Willard Golf Club. Montgomery shot a 37 on the back nine to finish with a 78 overall.

Miller, Kimmet lead Devils over Falcons

CAREY — Marcus Miller and Alex Kimmet shared medalist honors with 40s as Carey defeated Riverdale, 166-258, in a boys golf dual Thursday at Bob’s Countryside Golf Course. Chase Wagner scored a 42, and Easton Roark contributed a 44 to the Blue Devils’ team score.

Wynford’s Gerlach medals at BC Invite

NEW WASHINGTON — Annika Gerlach was medalist to lead Wynford to a third-place finish as the girls golf team opened its season Thursday in the Buckeye Central Invitational at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. Norwalk St. Paul was the winner with a 435, while Galion edged Wynford, 446-449, for first place.

The Upper Sandusky High School competition cheerleading squad recently took first place in the high school varsity division at the Lincolnview High School cheerleading competition.

Wynford finishes 4th in BC Invite

NEW WASHINGTON — Led by Kyle Koons’ 99, Wynford took fourth of five teams Wednesday in the Buckeye Central Invitational at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. Cardington-Lincoln ran away with the win with a 344, with Buckeye Central a distant second at 373.

Royals unanimously voted to win N10

WILLARD — Wynford was a unanimous pick to win the Northern 10 Athletic Conference football championship in a vote by media Monday at the 224 Varsity Club in Willard. Unbeaten in the league in its first two years, the Royals received all 10 first-place votes and 90 points overall in the poll.
