Upper JV baseball beats Wynford

Upper Sandusky scored four times in the fifth inning to take a 6-3 victory against Wynford in a junior varsity baseball action Wednesday. Jack Smith, Brett Bianchi, Trevor Clifford and Dalton Ohl had two hits apiece for the Rams.

Riverdale Blue splits pair of games

The Riverdale Blue junior high softball team recently lost, 12-3, to Findlay A. Lainie Howell had a single and an RBI, Brooke Swavel singled and scored a run, and Natalie Frankel-Schoenberger had a single and an RBI.

Carey wins 11th in last 13 games

BUCYRUS — The Carey softball team continued its recent hot play by taking a 7-1 victory at Bucyrus on Wednesday. With the win, the Blue Devils (11-7, 6-3 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) have won 11 of their last 13 after an 0-5 start.

Patient Royals take N10 lead

BUCYRUS — Patience paid off for Wynford in game one of its first-place series with Upper Sandusky. The Royals scored three runs on free bases in the second inning and held onto the lead the rest of the way in a 4-3 victory over the Rams.

Rams get 11 hits, draw 11 walks

BUCYRUS — Upper Sandusky drew 11 walks and added 11 hits in an 11-1 victory at Wynford on Wednesday in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play. Leading 5-1, the Rams (17-4, 12-1 N10) scored six times in the fourth inning to pull away.

Tigers hold off Falcons, 6-4

NORTH BALTIMORE — North Baltimore scored six times in the fourth inning and then held off Riverdale, 6-4, in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Wednesday. The Falcons (9-7, 4-4 BVC) scored once in the fifth inning and three times in the seventh.

Warriors score 12 in 3rd inning

SYCAMORE — Mohawk scored 12 runs in the third inning and took an 18-8 victory against Ridgedale in five innings Wednesday in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball play. The Warriors (10-7, 6-5 N10) trailed 4-1 before their huge outburst, which began with one out.
