The Mohawk sixth grade boys basketball team recently advanced to the finals of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference tournament in Bucyrus, losing to Colonel Crawford, 45-23.

Local players, coach selected for Fostoria East/West All-Star Game

FOSTORIA — Four players from Upper Sandusky, three from Mohawk and two from Carey will take part in the 45th annual East/West All-Star Basketball Game hosted by the Fostoria Athletic Boosters at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Fostoria. Mohawk’s Brandon Flood will represent the boys East team, while Carey’s Garrett Summit and Upper Sandusky’s Wes Vent and Eli Kinley are on the boys West roster.

Holderman named 2nd-team All-Ohio

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale’s Sydney Holderman has spent her whole life in the gym, and the result is that she now is a two-time All-Ohioan. After earning All-Ohio honorable mention last year, the senior took second-team honors this season after leading the Blanchard Valley Conference in scoring.

Fogle earns All-Ohio honorable mention

Already one of the sharpest 3-point shooters in Ohio girls basketball history, Abigail Fogle was honored Tuesday evening by being named Division II All-Ohio honorable mention. The junior guard shot just less than 50 percent this season from long range and averaged 19.8 points per game to rank second in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference in scoring.

MOBL and Cardington champs

The Upper Sandusky fourth grade girls basketball team is undefeated this season and recently won the championship at the Cardington tournament. The team is 11-0 and beat Shelby twice to win the Mid-Ohio Basketball League championship.
