Brandt Walton has reached the finals in Wyandot Match Game Invitational championship at Wyandot Lanes. Walton, the No. 5 seed, topped No. 15 seed Roger Ball, 661-576, in the winners’ bracket final Wednesday night and is the lone remaining unbeaten bowler in the field.

The Mohawk sixth grade boys basketball team recently advanced to the finals of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference tournament in Bucyrus, losing to Colonel Crawford, 45-23.

FOSTORIA — Four players from Upper Sandusky, three from Mohawk and two from Carey will take part in the 45th annual East/West All-Star Basketball Game hosted by the Fostoria Athletic Boosters at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Fostoria. Mohawk’s Brandon Flood will represent the boys East team, while Carey’s Garrett Summit and Upper Sandusky’s Wes Vent and Eli Kinley are on the boys West roster.

COLUMBUS — Columbus Africentric coach Will McKinney told The Columbus Dispatch his critical rant against the officials in the Nubains’ 85-46 regional semifinal victory over Riverdale last week were prompted because they refused to eject a fan in the Riverdale student section for making pig calls when his players were shooting free throws.

The 13th annual Community All-stars vs Angeline Indians basketball game will tipoff at 6:30 p.m. March 29 at Upper Sandusky High School. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale’s Sydney Holderman has spent her whole life in the gym, and the result is that she now is a two-time All-Ohioan. After earning All-Ohio honorable mention last year, the senior took second-team honors this season after leading the Blanchard Valley Conference in scoring.

Already one of the sharpest 3-point shooters in Ohio girls basketball history, Abigail Fogle was honored Tuesday evening by being named Division II All-Ohio honorable mention. The junior guard shot just less than 50 percent this season from long range and averaged 19.8 points per game to rank second in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference in scoring.

The Upper Sandusky fourth grade girls basketball team is undefeated this season and recently won the championship at the Cardington tournament. The team is 11-0 and beat Shelby twice to win the Mid-Ohio Basketball League championship.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk High School is seeking a varsity girls basketball head coach. Limited teaching positions are available.

CAREY — Carey junior forward Sydney Kin was given honorable mention All-Ohio in Division IV girls basketball in the team released by The Associated Press on Monday. “It starts with her work ethic in the gym,” Carey coach Phil Vaughn said.
