FOREST — Sign up now for Forest-Jackson Public Library’s “Build a Better World” summer reading program. Children receive tickets for library books they read, and may turn them in for prizes.

“Build a Better World” is the theme of Upper Sandusky Public Library’s 2017 Summer Reading Program for all ages. Patrons are invited to try something new this summer: at home, in the community, throughout the country, and around the globe.

HARPSTER — Harpster High School alumni recently attended their 102nd banquet themed “The Power of the Sun” at the Upper Sandusky High School cafeteria. Sue Rothermel welcomed guests, and Pippa Rothermel sang the Star Spangled Banner.

CAREY — It’s rhubarb season at the Our Lady of Consolation Bakery, where volunteers turn locally grown and donated rhubarb into a variety of pies. Flavors include rhubarb, rhubarb-strawberry and rhubarb-cherry.

Twenty-four members attended the Wyandot County Senior Citizens Club’s April meeting and potluck dinner at the Senior Center in Upper Sandusky. Norman Folk led the group in prayer and Sue Miller led the Pledge of Allegiance before the meal.
