Wyandot County Safe Communities Coalition wishes for a safe holiday

This holiday season, the Wyandot County Safe Communities Coalition and local law enforcement will work around the clock to keep vehicle drivers and passengers safe as they search for drunk drivers. From now through Dec. 31, law enforcement is partnering with the Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in a special year-end Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement event to keep drunk drivers off the roads and to spread the word about the dangers of impaired driving.

Bakery sale this weekend

CAREY — The Our Lady of Consolation Volunteer Bakery, founded by the late Father Paul Faroh, is preparing for its pre-Christmas bake sale by making dinner rolls, coffee cakes and lots of pies. The bake sale will be held Saturday and Sunday.

USHS student-athletes of the month

The Upper Sandusky Rams Athletic Boosters have announced the Upper Sandusky High School student-athletes of the month for December are Harrison Sheaffer (left) and Ellie Barnett. Sheaffer is a senior at USHS and currently plays basketball.

WMH offering diabetes course

The Wellness Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering its Living with Diabetes course to diabetics and their support persons from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 20-21 in the Bowman and Kirkland Conference Rooms on the hospital’s lower level.

Exchange program seeks host families

The World Heritage International Student Exchange Program is seeking representatives to work with volunteer host families and international exchange students in local communities. World Heritage provides academic year and semester exchange programs in the United States for high school students from around the world.
