Renovations are needed in the maternity department at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, and they are the priority project for the Wyandot Memorial Hospital Foundation’s annual campaign.

President Barb Grasz welcomed 68 members and guests to the Catholic Ladies of Columbia Christmas potluck. The blessing was given before the meal, and members and guests enjoyed food and fellowship.

KENTON — The Hardin County Business and Professional Women’s Club sponsors both the Helen Mabrey Shoe Fund and Sock and Slipper Christmas tree and Santa Train. The club has asked for help in donating for both and has added support from Kenton-Hardin Co. Soroptimists, the Kappa chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International from both Hardin and Wyandot Counties and the public.

The Home Energy Assistance Program Winter Crisis Program was created to provide financial assistance, one time per heating season, to income eligible households who are threatened with disconnection of their heating source, have service already disconnected, need to establish new service, seek to transfer service, or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel.

ATTICA — North Central Electric Cooperative has refunded nearly $600,000 in patronage capital credits to nearly 11,600 former and current members. At its November meeting, the NCE Board of Trustees approved a patronage capital credit refund of $599,174, marking the 38th consecutive year the cooperative has retired capital credits to current and former members.

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library, located at 102 W. Lima St., will be having “Food for Fines” throughout the month of December. One can of food equals one dollar off of fines. Donors are asked to check cans for expirations.

Following a soup and sandwich supper in the dining room, Worthy Matron Sharon Kloepfer welcomed 24 members at the meeting of Warpole Chapter No. 366 Order of the Eastern Star with a poem, “Christmas from Jesus.” The conductress introduced Sandy Lehner, grand representative of California in Ohio; and Sharon Kloepfer, chairman of arrangements for 2018.
