Many area residents honor servicemen and women on Memorial Day by participating and viewing the Memorial Day Parade

CAREY — Uriel Garcia was one of many to meet family members in the Carey school parking lot. The senior class president had just sat through the final commencement ceremony at the site on East South Street on Sunday to find himself in the weird, immediate mental state of reflection.

A pair of Upper Sandusky couples recently traveled to Flint, Michigan, to deliver 10 cases of bottled water and more than $2,000 to Salem Lutheran Church.

BUCYRUS — The sixth graders at Wynford Elementary gained recognition on social media when a video the class created was featured on the Facebook page of the Bobby Bones Show, a national country music morning radio show.

The staff and residents of Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday participated in Red Nose Day, a day that aims to bring awareness to the issue of childhood poverty.

The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners met Thursday to discuss bids for repair and restoration projects around the county.

The Upper Sandusky Lions Club began making improvements to the playground designated for small children at Harrison Smith Park on Friday and Saturday despite the rainy weather conditions. The renovation is the first of many future projects to update the condition of the park.

The arts are coming back to Harrison Smith Park in a festival and antique show June 18. The Wyandot Arts Council will host the Art in the Park and Antique Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

With their bright orange T-shirts donated by a local businessman, a group of fourth graders at South Elementary School marched to the downtown area for a store visit after using a school year’s worth of borrowed items to get a glimpse into the past. Alan Lortz’s fourth grade class at South has been studying antiques since the beginning of the school year.
