ASHLAND (AP) — A grand jury has indicted eight individuals after a drug-trafficking investigation resulted in the seizure of more than $1 million in drugs in northern Ohio.

State and local authorities say the indictments stemmed from a probe into a drug-trafficking organization operating in Ashland, Medina and Wayne counties.

A statement by Ohio’s attorney general on Monday said the investigation uncovered heroin, cocaine, prescription drugs and marijuana. Authorities also found cash, illegally-owned guns and items used to make heroin in pill form.

A total of 116 charges were filed. At least five of the suspects indicted by an Ashland County grand jury were in custody Monday.
