Sydney Studer threw a one-hitter as Colonel Crawford topped Upper Sandusky, 8-1, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Friday. The Eagles (16-5, 10-5 N10) backed her with plenty of offense, scoring three times each in the third and fifth innings and once each in the sixth and seventh innings.

Upper Sandusky defeats Wilard, 3-2

WILLARD — Upper Sandusky was dominant in the matches it won in taking a 3-2 victory against Willard in boys tennis action Friday. The Rams (8-5) shut out their opponent in five of six sets they won in their three victories.

Comets walk off with win over Falcons

MARION — Elgin rallied from a two-run deficit and walked off a 6-5 winner against Riverdale in a nonconference baseball game Friday. The Comets (17-6) took a 3-0 lead in the first two innings, but the Falcons (11-10) tied it with a three-run fourth inning and went up by two in the top of the fifth.

Rams girls win Elmwood title

BLOOMDALE — Upper Sandusky’s girls track and field team won its fourth invitational of the year, taking first in the Elmwood Invitational on Friday. The Rams scored 155.5 points to easily outdistance second-place Wauseon with 116.5 points.

LAS VEGAS — A month after competing at the Ohio state tournament as well as at nationals, Upper Sandusky senior Noah Clary has competed in yet another tournament before he heads to college. Clary placed fourth in the 2018 Marines Western Regional Freestyle on April 27-28 at the South Point Convention Center in Las Vegas.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk softball team extended its winning streak to five games by sweeping a pair of five-inning games, 14-2 and 4-0, against Lakota on Thursday. The Warriors (13-7) scored in each inning of the opener but really blew open the game with a nine-run fourth inning.

McComb rolls to 16-1 win over Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — McComb struck early and often on its way to a 16-1 victory against Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Thursday. The Panthers (9-6, 8-1 BVC) scored five times each in the first and fifth innings and three times each in the second and fourth innings.

COLUMBUS — John Joseph, of Upper Sandusky, will be inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame for his contributions to basketball. He will be honored Saturday at the annual induction ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus.
