Gypsy moth treatments to begin in NW Ohio

REYNOLDSBURG — Next week, the Ohio Department of Agriculture will begin aerial treatments designed to disrupt gypsy moth mating on 13,275 acres in Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Mercer, Paulding, Putnam and Wyandot counties, according to the ODA. Mayors hear about community development

NEVADA — The village of Nevada hosted the sixth quarterly Wyandot County mayors’ breakfast at Nevada Country Market on Tuesday morning with 18 people in attendance. After a welcome introduction by Nevada Mayor Ken Kerr, Wyandot County Commissioner Steve Seitz led the group in prayer and Upper Sandusky Area Chamber of Commerce director Kathy Grasz introduced Matthew Shad, of Great Placemakers, who gave a presentation on community development, according to minutes from the breakfast.

Potential buyer shows interest in Carey park

CAREY — With the Carey Exempted Village Schools Board of Education approving an enterprise zone agreement June 8, Carey Council followed suit Monday night. The 15-year agreement is with Halla Visteon Climate Control LLC, Detroit, according to interim fiscal officer Nickie Coppler.

KEY LARGO, Fla. — Nine Upper Sandusky FFA students had the opportunity to spend five days in Florida studying marine biology at Marine Lab on Key Largo. Marine Lab is a research and development foundation created to help others understand marine ecology, according to a press release from the Upper Sandusky FFA.
