Asphalt work begins in Upper

Bucyrus Materials is in Upper Sandusky today and tomorrow to lay a base coat of asphalt on North Eighth Street from Finley to Church street, and on Seventh Street from Wyandot Avenue to the railroad tracks. “No parking” signs are posted in the work areas.

Commissioners accept $1.2M bid for bridge restorations

Wyandot County Commissioners on Thursday approved a $1.2 million contract with a Columbus company to renovate two historical bridges. The Righter Co. will renovate Parker Covered Bridge for $607,988 and Swartz Covered Bridge for $597,672. Ninety-five percent of the cost will be paid for with a federal grant from the Transportation Alternative Program and the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Toll Revenue Credit.

Upper PD investigating 2 SUVs stolen in two days

Upper Sandusky police are investigating thefts of two SUVs stolen in two days. A black 2004 GMC Yukon was reported stolen from a home in the 500 block of North Sandusky Avenue on Friday morning, and a woman in the 1100 block of Edgewood Drive reported her 2009 black Chrysler Aspen stolen Thursday morning.
