COLUMBUS — Upper Sandusky native Travis Davis had a big test on Saturday in his seventh professional mixed martial arts fight at the Arnold Sports Expo in Columbus. “Bam Bam” Davis battled Jesse Murray, the No. 2 ranked light heavyweight in Ohio.

Upper native looks to make it big in MMA

COLUMBUS — An Upper Sandusky native has one of the biggest fights of his life later today at the Arnold Sports Festival in downtown Columbus. Travis Davis, a 2005 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, began fighting mixed martial arts professionally in 2016. He competes in the middleweight (185 pound) and light heavyweight (205 pound) divisions, and possesses a 5-1 record.

Registrar releases January stats

Jane M. Shrider, registrar of vital statistics at the Wyandot County Health Department, reports there were 14 births and 39 deaths in the county during January. Births include 10 females and four males; deaths include 18 females and 21 males. Fifty-one certified birth and 147 certified death certificates were issued. Forty-three burial permits were issued.
