The Upper Sandusky Community Library Board held its final meeting of 2018 Thursday afternoon. Library Director Kathleen Whitt said the insurance adjuster told her there’s no time limit on the restoration from the flooding in September.

The White Shutter Winery donated $1,008 to the Star Theatre in Upper Sandusky at the Christmas Cabaret on Saturday. The funds were raised from a murder mystery dinner and another dinner is planned in the future.

The Upper Sandusky Police Department helped spread Christmas cheer to area youth Wednesday evening at Walmart with its 2018 “Shop with a Cop” program. Twenty-three children were selected to participate in the evening, which allows the children to pick out gifts while accompanied by an Upper Sandusky police officer.

Marseilles Village Council met in regular session on Tuesday. In old business, council discussed a property in the village that needs maintenance.

The Upper Sandusky seventh grade girls basketball team held off Mohawk 19-18 in overtime on Monday. Grace Metzger led the Rams with 8 points.

LIMA — The Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 is seeking public comments regarding a proposed Ogg Street bridge project in Carey. ODOT, in partnership with the village of Carey, is proposing to replace the Ogg Street bridge over Spring Run.

John Caldwell has been named the senior director of administrative services and business development at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Caldwell oversees the dietary, environmental services, maintenance and materials management departments.

CAREY — The final Mayor’s Breakfast of 2018 was held Tuesday morning at Splinter’s Cafe in Carey. Deputy Director of Ohio Homeland Security Russ Decker was the featured speaker.

SYCAMORE — Sycamore Village Council held its final meeting of 2018 at council chambers Tuesday evening. Village Administrator Chuck Clark thanked the women at the office as well as every one of the village’s current and recently retired employees for getting a lot done this year.

Davita, an international dialysis company based in Upper Sandusky chose St. Peter School as the recipient of its 2018 DaVita Way of Giving. The school was presented with a check for $1,150 Tuesday morning and DaVita volunteers stuck behind to help serve lunch to students.
