Upper Sandusky Police Department An officer transported an Upper Sandusky man home from the Wyandot Memorial Hospital emergency room the early morning of July 10. An officer assisted Wyandot County EMS with a medical emergency on the 400 block of West Walker Street the early morning of July 10.

Ketvertes named new NCE director of communications

Lorain-Medina Rural Electric and North Central Electric have selected Shannon Ketvertes as the new director of communications for both cooperatives. Ketvertes, who earned a degree in broadcast journalism and communications from Cleveland State University, has successfully managed a marketing consulting business since 2013, helping small businesses and entrepreneurs with marketing and branding services.

Sycamore changes starting pay for fiscal officer position

SYCAMORE — Sycamore Council retracted its resolution from last month and passed a new one that increases the pay for the fiscal officer during Tuesday night’s meeting. The previous resolution created the position of fiscal officer, a hired position, to replace the clerk-treasurer, an elected position, and set the beginning pay at $33,000. However, councilman Tony Flood said that was in conflict with another council resolution that says all village salaried positions must start with a salary of at least $35,000.

Patrol continues impaired driving enforcement focus

BUCYRUS — As part of the Patrol’s ongoing effort to make Ohio’s roadways safer, troopers are continuing to focus on impaired driving enforcement. During the first five months of 2019, troopers have made more than 10,000 arrests for impaired driving, resulting in 22 fewer OVI-related fatal crashes.

Troy E. Landrum, Upper Sandusky, was arrested for domestic violence on the 300 block of West Church Street the morning of July 9. Anne M. Barger, Marion, was arrested on a warrant out of Upper Sandusky Municipal Court the morning of July 9.

Treasurer Sprague re-opens Ag-LINK program for Ohio farmers impacted by floods

COLUMBUS — Due to the extreme weather that has taken a devastating toll on parts of Ohio, Treasurer Robert Sprague today announced he has re-opened the application period for the Ag-LINK program. Through this round of applications, farm operators and agribusiness owners based in Ohio can receive a 2% interest rate reduction on loans up to $150,000. Ag-LINK can provide significant savings and much needed relief to farmers and agribusinesses impacted by recent storms and floods.
