Judge to speak to Hardin County Dems

KENTON — Judge Randall Basinger will be the featured speaker for the Hardin County Democrats’ annual kickoff dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Goshen Grange Hall, 18977 CR 120, located at the corner of Hardin County Road 120 and TR 205 east of Kenton.

Nevada UMC plans police-community relations cookout

NEVADA — Nevada United Methodist Church will participate in the National Night Out by hosting a community cookout beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to the National Night Out website, it is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live.

School supply carnival, information fair is today

BUCYRUS — Elementary school children from low-income families can get free school supplies, play games for prizes and visit an information fair with parents at the eighth annual back-to-school supply carnival and information fair from 3-6 p.m. Thursday at Bucyrus United Methodist Church’s Outreach Center, 216 Hopley Ave.

Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools announces open houses

The Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School District has set the dates for its elementary, middle and high school open houses. Upper Sandusky elementary school open house dates and times are 6:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at East Elementary School; 6 p.m. Aug. 16 at Union Elementary School; and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at South Elementary School.

Gottfried to debut 10th book

Upper Sandusky resident Lew Gottfried will debut his 10th and potentially his final book when more than 10 authors gather for a book-signing event Saturday at the historic Overland Inn in McCutchenville.
