Big innings lead Falcons to easy 14-4 win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale had a pair of big innings in a 14-4 victory against Cory-Rawson in nonconference baseball play Saturday at Riverdale.

Already leading 1-0, the Falcons (12-2) scored eight times in the second inning, and after the Hornets scored four times in the fourth inning, Riverdale came back with five runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Cam Furr tripled, doubled and drove in four runs to lead Riverdale. Lex Weber had three hits and two RBIs. Evan Reiter singled, walked twice and scored three runs. Gauge King singled, walked twice and had three RBIs.

Jackson Armrose (1-0) earned the pitching win, giving up just one hit and one walk with three strikeouts in two innings. Weber allowed one earned run on four hits with one strikeout in two innings. Furr struck out two in one inning.

Blake Boehm had two hits and scored a run for Cory-Rawson. Hank Walters doubled and drove in two runs.
