Lord Tobey R. Basinger, age 43, of Harpster, went to meet Jesus on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

On March 18 2000, he married the love of his life ,Charity. 

He is survived by wife, Charity; and children, Katelynn Basinger, Austin (Makenzie) Basinger, Scarlett Basinger, Kayleigh Kinnaman-Basinger, Macie (Hannah) Easterday and Katilyn Kinnaman; grandchildren, Kealyn Kinnaman and Kayvon Myles; parents Darrel Basinger and Sheryl Hoagland; father-in-law Rickey Reeves; siblings Shawn Minger, Holly Hoagland, Moon (Scott) Wolfe, Jaime Page Alicie, Corey (Piyawan) Basinger, Ryan Thompson and Nikki Hoagland (Jeff Wyche), and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Tobey was preceded in death by bonus mom Donna Basinger, who died in February 2020; and uncle Ronald Gardner, who died in 2011.

Tobey graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1999. Tobey joined the U.S. Army National Guard in 2000 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 2008.

He touched many lives in his role as a leader in the Liberty Family Center, a foster parent, an adult Sunday school teacher and a friend to many. He loved playing Dungeons and Dragons, watching the Steelers and Buckeyes and loved anything science fiction.

A military service recognizing Tobey’s service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Family Center Church, 102 S. Seventh St. ,Upper Sandusky. Visitation will follow the military service from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Family Center with Pastor Scott Moore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family and can be sent to Lucas Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
