BUCYRUS — Wynford was sloppy at times but overall, it’s defensive pressure overwhelmed Carey on the way to beating Carey for the first time in five years in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play, 43-32, on Tuesday night. The Royals forced 32 turnovers and won their fourth straight game.

Carey tops Riverdale, Hopewell

Getting the win

BASCOM — Carey rolled to a pair of victories in a wrestling tri-match Tuesday at Hopewell-Loudon. The Blue Devils defeated Hopewell-Loudon 51-24 and Riverdale 60-18. The Falcons edged the Chieftains 30-28 in the other match.

Warriors roll to first win of year

BUCYRUS — Aubrie Harper scored 22 points and Aubrey Margraf finished with 15 points to lead Mohawk to its first victory of the season, 67-46, at Bucyrus on Tuesday night in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball game.

The Upper Sandusky Elks recently held its annual Hoop Shoot at Upper Sandusky Middle School. The program was started in 1946 to promote focus, hard work and perseverance in youth.

Upper soccer to have skills clinic in winter

The Upper Sandusky High School boys soccer coaches and players will be holding a winter/spring skills clinic for boys in third through eighth grades from 5-6 p.m. Sundays from Jan. 6 through March 17 in the high school gym. The cost is $6, which includes a T-shirt.

USMS to honor military during Jan. 17 games

The OHSAA has deemed Jan. 18 as military appreciation night at high schools across the state of Ohio.  Upper Sandusky Middle School is a willing participant in this program, and while it does not have a game Jan. 18, nor is it a high school, it still will honor our military, both past and present.
