MARION — The Upper Sandusky swimming teams rolled to victory in a six-team meet Wednesday at the Marion YMCA. The Rams girls amassed 187 points to finish far ahead of Marion Harding with 66 points, while the boys were first over The Wellington School 220-81.

Upper Sandusky will have youth wrestling for fifth and sixth graders from 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays at Upper Sandusky Middle School.

Spring registration for Upper Sandusky Youth Soccer is upcoming. Times and dates to register are 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Beca House, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at 9 Flags Pizza and 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 26 at Beca House.

The Upper Sandusky girls soccer coaching staff is providing Sunday Night Soccer winter training for girls in third through eighth grades. The sessions are 6-8 p.m. Sundays through March 24 (excluding Feb. 3) in the Upper Sandusky High School gym. Sessions are free.

BUCYRUS — So close, yet so far. Nine different times in the second half, the Wynford boys basketball team was within one possession of Willard. Twice, the Royals were trailing by only one point.

NORTH ROBINSON — Defense kept Carey in the game but it just could not muster enough offense. Colonel Crawford shut down the Blue Devils in a 30-26 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball action Tuesday night.

CAREY — Carey’s only senior, Ethan Schlack, got a pin on senior night but it was not enough as the Blue Devils dropped a 42-28 dual wrestling decision against Allen East on Tuesday evening. Schlack’s pin of Brennan Davies in the 285-pound match gave Carey a 28-27 lead but Allen East won the final three contested matches after a double forfeit.

SYCAMORE — Bailey Sheets scored all but one point as Mohawk’s eighth grade girls basketball team edged Seneca East 18-17 on Tuesday. Sheets finished with 18 points.

The Upper Sandusky High School competition cheer team took first place in the large varsity division in the 10th annual Ohio Athletic Committee cheerleading state competition Sunday at Worthington-Kilbourne High School. The Rams were OAC state runner-up out of nine squads, next to Hilliard Davidson High School.

FOSTORIA — The Upper Sandusky junior high wrestling team took the team championship Saturday in the Chuck Mason wrestling tournament at Fostoria. The Rams finished ahead of second-place Elmwood, with Bowling Green, Findlay Donnell and Gibsonburg following that. Carey was 13th in the 23-team tournament.
