CAREY — Carey High School senior Talen Nye wasn’t planning to participate in an extracurricular activity this year. But after receiving a schoolwide email from Carey Technology Coordinator Nick Rider asking if any students were interested in the new Carey esports team, many students, including Nye, immediately expressed interest and became members of the club.

McLaughlin into Wyandot Match Game final again

Don McLaughlin is one win away from his fourth Wyandot Match Game bowling championship in the last five years as he became the last undefeated bowler of this year’s tournament Wednesday at Wyandot Lanes. McLaughlin moved into the finals of the Match Game by defeating Roger Ball dominantly, 783-572.

Wynford’s Grove named All-Ohioan

BUCYRUS — Wynford High School senior forward Olivia Grove recently received special-mention All-Ohio honors in Division IV on Tuesday. Grove, the lone senior on the team, averaged 11.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.2 steals, 1.6 blocks and 1.2 assists per game this season.

Mohawk’s Dunn, Hayman take top All-N10 basketball honors

Mohawk’s Zach Hayman and Paul Dunn took top honors as player and coach of the year, respectively, on the All-Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball teams released Monday. Hayman was joined on the first team locally by teammate Chris Klopp, Carey’s Hayden Stone, Upper Sandusky’s Mason Vent and Wynford’s Josh Crall.
