Niederkohr has 3 extra-base hits in win

NORTH ROBINSON — Hailey Niederkohr had three extra-base hits as Carey run-ruled Colonel Crawford 11-0 in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday at Colonel Crawford. Niederkohr doubled twice and tripled once as Carey (3-1, 2-0 N10) used a six-run fourth inning to pull away. She scored twice and drove in a run.

Burkhart strike outs 11 in Eagles’ victory

NORTH ROBINSON — Drayton Burkhart struck out 11, and Colonel Crawford took advantage of five Carey errors in an 8-2 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball play Monday. Only one of the eight runs the Blue Devils (1-3, 0-2 N10) surrendered was earned. Reece Mullholand (0-2) took the loss.

Smith strong as Wynford tops Bucyrus

BUCYRUS — Wynford’s four-run third inning was plenty of support for Noah Smith as the Royals took a 7-3 victory against Bucyrus in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Monday at Bucyrus. Smith (2-0) gave up just four hits and two walks while striking out eight in a complete game for the Royals (3-2, 2-0 N10).

Rister strikes out 13 as Redmen top Royals

BUCYRUS — Caleigh Rister threw a one-hitter and contributed three hits at the plate as Bucyrus topped Wynford 13-0 in five innings in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday at Bucyrus. The Redmen (3-3, 2-0 N10) blew open the game with a 10-run third inning.

Upper wins battle of Rams

Upper Sandusky was dominant in taking a 5-0 boys tennis victory against Madison on Monday at Upper Sandusky. “It’s always good to get a 5-0 win when the guys played well,” Upper Sandusky coach Aaron Frazee said.

CAREY — This wasn’t the first time that the Carey girl's track and field team has won the Carey Blue Devil Relays, the annual track meet the Carey boys and girl's track teams host on their home track. It wasn’t the second or third consecutive time they have done so either. Thanks to eight first-place finishes in the running events and an overall team score of 141 points, the Carey girl's track team won the Carey Blue Devil Relays for at least the fifth consecutive time on Saturday.

Watson, Hayden show strong in Elks Invite

BUCYRUS — Wynford’s Alizhah Watson placed in three events, including a win in the 100 dash, to lead area performers in the Bucyrus Elks Invitational on Saturday at Bucyrus. Watson won the 100 dash in 12.14 and came in second in the 200 dash in 24.37. He was fourth in the 400 dash in 54.28, helping the Royals score 34 points for a 10th-place finish.

Upper Sandusky’s Lane Montgomery (right) took eighth at 138 pounds in the junior high state wrestling meet. Karson Alban and Bryce Kincade also wrestled for the Rams. Clouse hits 2 HRs in Mohawk win

SYCAMORE — Paityn Clouse not only got the win in the circle, but helped herself at the plate as well. Clouse earned the pitching win and clubbed two home runs as the Mohawk softball team defeated Old Fort 12-2 on Thursday at Lady Warriors Field.
