Mohawk’s Klopp has triple-double

ATTICA — Chris Klopp had a triple-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks as Mohawk rolled to a 63-35 victory at Seneca East on Saturday night in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game. Zach Hayman scored 23 points and is averaging 26.3 points per game over his last four games.

Pirates shut down Falcons 55-38

BLUFFTON — After winning seven straight games, Riverdale dropped its second straight game with a 55-38 loss at Bluffton in a nonconference game Saturday night. Riverdale (12-7) struggled offensively, shooting just 37 percent, including 3 of 16 (18 percent) on 3-pointers, while Bluffton filled it up from deep by going 10 of 23 and shot 46 percent overall.

ATTICA — Just when Seneca East thought it was back in the game Friday night against Upper Sandusky in a boys Northern 10 Athletic Conference basketball matchup, Upper Sandusky stepped on the gas. With the Rams’ lead cut to 10 points in the third quarter, Upper Sandusky was fueled by a 17-2 run to close out the quarter and pulled away to defeat Seneca East 74-50 at Seneca East.

Schroeder leads McComb to win over Riverdale

McCOMB — Tanner Schoreder scored 21 points to lead a trio of players who led McComb to a 51-49 upset of Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference boys basketball game Friday night at McComb. Tyler Durfey added 16 points, and Tristan Sherick had 12 points, as the three accounted for all but two of the points scored on the night by the Panthers (6-9, 5-3 BVC). Brock Davis led the Falcons (12-6, 7-2 BVC) with 16 points, with Alec Loveridge adding 12 points. Seth McElree finished with 9 points.

Wyandot County picks up win over Hancock

The Wyandot County Indians topped Hancock County 40-33 on Monday in a Special Olympics varsity basketball game in Hancock County. Tyler Cooper led Wyandot County (3-2) with 22 points. Connor Swartz scored 6 points. Ben Frey, James Yoho and Clayton Miller finished with 4 points apiece.

Arlington’s big 2nd half helps it pull away from Riverdale

ARLINGTON — Arlington shut out Riverdale in the third quarter to pull away for a 53-18 victory in a Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball game Thursday night at Arlington. The Red Devils (16-3, 9-1 BVC) led just 8-6 after one quarter and 19-10 at halftime but outscored the Falcons (7-13, 2-8 BVC) by a 12-0 margin in the third quarter to take a 31-10 lead into the fourth.
