Rams sweep singles in 4-1 win over Redmen

Upper Sandusky won big in all three singles matches and cruised to a 4-1 victory against Bucyrus in a boys tennis match Thursday at Upper Sandusky. Levi Malone was a 6-0, 6-1 winner against Kyle Hamm in the No. 1 singles match, while Landon Cotto-Ramos against Karsen Kimmel and Justin Blackburn against John Bell were 6-0, 6-0 winners in the No. 2 and 3 singles matches, respectively.

Carey bats come to life in 15-3 victory

SYCAMORE — Carey was eager to avenge a loss two days earlier, while Mohawk’s focus may have been elsewhere. The result was the Blue Devils pounding the Warriors 15-3 in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday in Sycamore. Coming off a 6-3 loss to Upper Sandusky on Monday, Carey was seeking a bounce-back win from the get-go, scoring nine times in the first two innings, beginning with a home run by Hailey Niederkohr to lead off the game.

Widmer pitches Mohawk to 7-3 win against Carey

SYCAMORE — Mohawk’s Cole Widmer may have allowed an earned run for the first time this season, but thanks to his timely strikeouts, he remains undefeated on the season. Widmer (2-0) tossed a complete game, giving up eight hits, three runs (one earned) and two walks with 10 strikeouts in the Mohawk baseball team’s 7-3 victory over Carey on Wednesday at Mohawk.

Cotto-Ramos turns match in Rams’ win

Landon Cotto-Ramos completely turned his match around and helped the Upper Sandusky boys tennis team take a 3-2 victory against Pleasant on Wednesday at Upper Sandusky. Cotto-Ramos lost his first seven games but won 12 of the final 13 to beat Connor Eblin 0-6, 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 2 singles match.

Eagles win with 5-run 4th

NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford scored five times in the fourth inning and that was enough Wednesday for a 5-4 victory against Wynford in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball action at Colonel Crawford. The Royals (5-6, 4-3 N10) built a 4-0 lead, but the Eagles (5-4, 4-3 N10) erased it in the bottom of the fourth.

Rodriguez leads Rams’ win

MORRAL — Jenna Rodriguez had four hits and four RBIs as Upper Sandusky blasted Ridgedale 14-2 in five innings in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday at Ridgedale. Rodriguez had a home run among her four hits. Alexis Fogle also had a big day at the plate with two singles, a double, two RBIs and two runs.

Errors lead to Riverdale loss

McCOMB — A young Riverdale team could not overcome seven errors and dropped its first Blanchard Valley Conference softball game of the year, 9-3, on Wednesday at McComb. The Falcons (5-2, 3-1 BVC) stayed close before the Panthers (6-2, 4-0 BVC) pulled away with a five-run sixth inning.

Wasson shuts out Falcons

McCOMB — Kyle Wasson threw a three-hit shutout to lead McComb to a 2-0 victory against Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Wednesday at McComb. Wasson did not walk anyone and struck out five batters. He was able to outduel Brock Davis of Riverdale.
