Physicals to be offered May 29 at Upper HS

Upper Sandusky High School and SportsCare at Wyandot Memorial Hospital are partnering to offer athletic physicals May 29 for students entering seventh through 12th grades. WMH staff and local chiropractors will provide physical exams for a $15 donation to the USHS athletic department.

Mohawk track teams finish 2nd in tri with Crawford, Ridgedale

MORRAL — Mohawk’s boys and girls combined to win 13 events while both finishing second in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference tri-match Monday at Ridgedale. Colonel Crawford won the girls meet with 89 points, with Mohawk finishing well ahead of Ridgedale 57-27. The Eagles boys scored 98 points, followed by the Warriors with 39 points and the Rockets with 35 points.

Wynford scores 5 in 7th in victory

NEW WASHINGTON — Wynford put away Buckeye Central late with a five-run seventh inning in a 9-2 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play Tuesday at Buckeye Central. The Royals (2-4, 2-1 N10) scored twice in the first inning but the Buckettes (0-5, 0-3 N10) stayed close throughout.

When a blood test revealed that Columbus native Randy Zibell had an incurable liver disease, he couldn’t believe it. He was healthy, active and asymptomatic at the time. But over time as his liver began to fail, he realized at age 61, he was too tired to even walk across the parking lot in to work.

Rams win tri with Royals, Tigers

Upper Sandusky boys and girls were winners in a home tri-meet against Seneca East and Wynford on Monday at Upper Sandusky. The Rams girls topped the Tigers 92.5-30.5, with the Royals scoring 31 points, while the Rams boys topped the Tigers 84-64, with the Royals tallying 27 points.

SYCAMORE — Tanner Osborn’s bases-loaded double in the third inning provided all the offense Mohawk needed in a 3-2 victory against Buckeye Central in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Monday at Mohawk. All three of the hits the Warriors (2-0, 1-0 N10) managed against Buckeye Central’s Brady Biglin came in the third inning.
