Riverdale tops Elmwood, improves to 2-0

ARLINGTON — Led by Andrew Kuenzli’s 37, the Riverdale boys golf team won for the second straight day, beating Elmwood 198-225 in a dual match Thursday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. The Falcons (2-0) also got a 47 from Reese Haley, a 53 from Curtis Tracy and a 59 from David Borkosky.

Montgomery medals, Rams take 3rd

GALION — Brett Montgomery was the tournament medalist as Upper Sandusky finished third Wednesday in the Galion Invitational boys golf tournament at Galion Country Club. The host Tigers ran away with the title with a 324, while Wooster edged Upper Sandusky 364-366 for second place. Mansfield Madison took fourth in the nine-team field with a 373.

Kuenzli leads Riverdale past Crawford

ARLINGTON — Andrew Kuenzli medaled by 15 strokes to lead Riverdale to a 207-235 victory against Colonel Crawford on Wednesday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Kuenzli shot a 37, with teammate Rease Haley shooting a 52. Tyler Clark and Curtis Tracy both contributed 59s toward the team score for the Falcons (1-0). Ben Riddle (69) and David Borkosky (70) also played.

Plymouth edges Wynford by single stroke

NEW WASHINGTON — Aden Caldwell shot a 44, but Plymouth had three players shoot a 42, and that was enough to edge Wynford 188-189 in a non-conference boys golf match Wednesday at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. Brody Brown, Draven Kelley and Zeb Finnegan all were co-medalists with 42s for the Big Red, and they topped the Royals despite taking a 62 from Jansen Potts for their fourth score.

Carey finishes 5th in Wildcat Invitational

BOWLING GREEN — Carey placed fifth of 13 teams with a 367 on Wednesday in the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Woodmore at Stone Ridge Golf Course. Ethan Tanner led the Blue Devils with an 86, with Mckain Miller one stroke back with an 87. Brayden Miller shot a 96, and Carter Frederick and Kole Phillips both had 98s.

Upper knocks off Kenton 189-197

Brett Montgomery medaled with a 41 on a day the course played tough at Lincoln Hills Golf Course and Upper Sandusky came away with a 189-197 victory against Kenton in a non-league boys golf match Tuesday. Ben Latham shot a 46, Owen Knapp added a 47, and Matthew Homburg scored a 55 for the Rams (1-0). Gavin Carey (61) and Ethan Collins (63) had scores that were dropped from the team total.

Carmen’s Crew wins TBT title

CHICAGO — Jon Diebler had a key steal and layup as Carmen’s Crew closed on an 8-0 run to take a 66-60 victory against the Golden Eagles to win the championship and the $2 million winner-take-all prize in The Basketball Tournament on Tuesday night at Wintrust Arena.

Wynford 4th at BC Invite

NEW WASHINGTON — Kayleb Keaton and Owen England led Wynford and Mohawk to fourth- and fifth-place finishes, respectively, in the Buckeye Central Invitational on Tuesday at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. The Royals shot a 193, while the Warriors scored a 205. Seneca East ran away with the title over the host Bucks, 149-169, in the tournament shortened to nine holes because of weather. River Valley was third among nine teams with a 179.
