Falcons finish regular season unbeaten

MOUNT BLANCHARD – Riverdale finished the boys soccer regular season undefeated by playing to a scoreless draw against Ottoville on Saturday at Riverdale. The Falcons (12-0-4) managed eight shots on goal, but all of them were stopped by the Big Green¹s Kaiden Trentman. Riverdale's Ethan Shane made two saves.

Rams top Stockaders 3-1

Caleb Helea scored shortly before halftime to help spark Upper Sandusky to a 3-1 victory against Old Fort in its boys soccer regular season finale Saturday at Upper Sandusky. Helea's goal came with 1:39 remaining in the first half. Austin McLane scored with 28:16 left in the match, and two minutes later, Payton Randall scored on a free kick to make it 3-0.

Kuenzli finishes 31st in state tournament

COLUMBUS – Riverdale junior Andrew Kuenzli finished in 31st place Saturday in the Division III state golf tournament at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course. Kuenzli followed his round of 85 on Friday with an 86 on Saturday for an overall total of 171. He was 7-over par on both the front and back nines.

McComb sweeps Carey

CAREY – Carey closed out the volleyball regular season with a 25-14, 25-20, 25-20 loss to McComb on Saturday at Carey. McKenzie Row led the Blue Devils (10-12) with 11 kills and 19 digs. Carey shocks Seneca East in overtime

ATTICA — There was no quit in the Carey football team Friday night in hostile territory against state-ranked Seneca East. Down by two touchdowns with just over one quarter remaining in the game, Carey scored 20 unanswered points to defeat the previously unbeaten Tigers 26-20 in overtime in one of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s biggest upsets of 2019.

BUCYRUS — Offense, especially the quick-strike variety, has not been Mohawk’s strength this season, but it was when it was needed most. After Bucyrus rallied with a go-ahead touchdown with 1:08 remaining, the Warriors answered with a huge connection between Landen Snyder and Jesse Leeth that set up the game-winning touchdown run by Mason Danner as Mohawk took a dramatic 20-13 victory Friday night at Bucyrus.
