Ontario sweeps Riverdale

ONTARIO — Grace Wetherill had seven kills but it was not nearly enough in Riverdale’s 25-10, 25-12, 25-17 nonconference loss at Ontario on Tuesday night. Tayler Sherman and Tayler Ashburn had three kills each for the Falcons (2-11) against the Warriors (12-5).

Royals roll past rival Redmen

BUCYRUS — Wynford had little trouble taking out rival Bucyrus 25-18, 25-11, 25-11 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball play Monday night. Averi McMillan led the Royals (7-8, 5-5 N10) with six kills, seven assists and six digs. In her return to the lineup after missing the last five matches, Lainey Holman had four kills and two aces.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Grace Wetherill pounded 19 kills, and Riverdale outlasted North Baltimore 26-28, 25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 15-10 in Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball play Monday night at Riverdale. Wetherill added three aces for the Falcons (2-10, 1-6 BVC). Tayler Yoder had 28 assists. Tayler Ashburn contributed four aces, five kills and eight digs.

Carey tops NB

CAREY — Having used Lakeland Golf Club as its home course this season, the Carey golf team returned to its former home to close out the season with a 164-181 victory against North Baltimore on senior night Monday at Bob’s Country Side Golf Course.

Row’s 15 kills lead Carey in win

CAREY — McKenzie Row had 15 kills and 17 digs as Carey defeated Colonel Crawford 25-19, 26-24, 21-25, 25-17 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball play Monday night. Row also was 17 of 19 serve receiving and had one block for the Blue Devils (6-8, 5-5 N10).

1st-place BC tops Mohawk again

NEW WASHINGTON — Buckeye Central remained unbeaten in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball play by beating Mohawk 25-14, 25-19, 23-25, 25-22 on Monday night. The Bucks (11-4, 10-0 N10) erased an early Mohawk lead in the second set, while the Warriors (9-4, 6-3 N10) held on in the third set. Buckeye Central took control of the fourth set early and then was able to survive Mohawk’s bid to force a fifth set to beat the Warriors for the second time this year.

Upper gets doubles win in 4-1 loss

CALEDONIA — Upper Sandusky got a win from its top two players in No. 1 doubles action but dropped a 4-1 decision to River Valley in girls tennis play Monday at River Valley. Saki Fukuta and Mara Smalley took an easy 6-1, 6-2 victory against Kate Richards and Ashiah Harris.

Kenton, Waynesfield top Riverdale

ARLINGTON — Andrew Kuenzli medaled with a 42, but Riverdale lost to both Waynesfield-Goshen and Kenton in a golf tri-match Monday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. The Falcons finished with a 201, with the Tigers beating the Wildcats 190-194 for first place.

Windau scores 4 goals in Rams’ win

Hannah Windau came one goal short of tying the school record for goals in a match, netting four of them in Upper Sandusky’s 4-1 girls soccer victory against Marion Harding on Saturday at Upper Sandusky. Mia Norris found Windau with a pass into the penalty area, and Windau beat the goalkeeper backside for her first goal at the 28:22 mark in the first half. With 9:56 remaining in the half, Brooke Swavel played the ball through to Riley Messersmith, who switched the field to Windau, who converted.
